A Prayer

Hey everybody! I’ve had this laid on my heart for a little while now to pray with you all. Not just in my daily prayers, but here on the blog. Right now, our world seems to be so confused. It’s ripping apart from the inside out. Everybody you know is suffering from something. A lot of us are unsure and scared of our future. Between a global pandemic and our nation suffering great loss, it is so easy (at least for me) to forget where I need to turn. If you would like to pray along with me - I am listing things that are just on my heart. Things that I hear and see daily.

Before I begin, if you aren’t sure how to pray or if you’ve never done so before; it’s a lot easier than you may think. It’s simply talking to God. If you can’t or don’t want to say it aloud, say it in your head. If you are like me and seem to get more across on paper than verbally, write it down or type it out. God hears our prayers always.

Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, and for its many blessings. Lord right now so many things are going on in the world around us that we tend to forget which way is which. Lord help us to remember to solely rely on You. You are our “Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness”. We know that you hear our prayers, our petitions, our cries of joy and pain. Lord, You and You alone know the need of each individual. I want to lift up the following to You…

-Those suffering with COVID; Families of COVID patients; Our Military; Military Families/Spouses; Those who are grieving; Our Doctors/Nurses/Medical Staff/Hospital Staff; Police men and women; Fire men and women; Medics/EMTS; Our Country; Our Leaders; Our Government; The Afghan People; Americans left behind in Kabul; Our Pastors/Missionaries; Our Children; Our Parents; Those without work; Those who are burnt out from endless work; Those with financial hardship; Single Parents; Divorced/Separated Parents; Broken Families; Foster Parents; Foster Children; The Abused; The Depressed; The Anxious; The Lonely; Those fighting cancer; Those searching for a cure; Those who have faced natural disaster; and lastly, those that don’t know YOU, Father.

Lord, I could go on what seems like forever. You know who needs what Lord. I ask that you heal us, protect us, continue to love and guide us. Help us to love our enemies just as we love ourselves. Mostly, help us remember that we are all created equally by You, Father, and that You love each and everyone of us the same as the next. No race, gender, mental capacity, work, or sin can take that away. Thank you Lord for each new day that you bless us with and help us to move forward in spreading Your Gospel. The Gospel that tells us that You loved us so much that You gave Your only son to die on a cross for our sins. (John 3:16) We are not worthy, yet you love us in spite of ourselves. A love without abandon. A reckless type of love. I pray that you change hearts, open eyes, and work in those who do not know You personally. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

I love you all. I am praying for you all. - Alexis

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
